I can’t believe I’m finished making these. This one makes me think of a peony. They were such fun to see as each little surprise showed up when they were stitched together. This is one of my favourites, although I … Continue reading

The project box is empty. And just waiting for the next project that needs to be kept in a pretty round project box. There are some pieces left over which are going to be put in the bits for labels box. Yes, I … Continue reading
Once I had nine of the little kaleidoscope stars made with the .50″/1″ star points, I decided to start playing with a setting idea. So I quickly printed some elongated hexagons and 1″ diamonds. For the trial I used some muslin, but think I’ll like it better with something different – perhaps a green or even a white on white – so I will be taking this apart. But I wanted to see if I actually liked this idea and I do. For a few days though, it’s being set aside.
Why? Because Springtime in Paris is very, very close to being finished. All but the last few blocks are done. Row 9 was added to the quilt last night and these are all that are left to stitch and row 10 will be done, ready to attach to the rest and then the top will be, for the most part, finished. And I am determined to try to finish it this week.
Spring has definitely arrived. The crab apple tree is covered in beautiful pink buds. In another day or two the scent of the blossoms will be wonderful.

I can’t believe how small Baxter seems in this photo. If there’s one thing he isn’t, it’s small. He’s easily twice the size of Jake.
Seven rows done, three to go. Well, really two to go. Row 8 is ready to be attached, which won’t take much more than an evening. So now I’m hoping the top will be done by the time we get … Continue reading

I’m in trouble. Major trouble. I was sure that after I finished Springtime in Paris I’d start working on setting the butterfly kaleidoscope stars together. Had the setting figured out. Everything was planned. I’m rather enjoying having projects planned out a … Continue reading
This is totally unlike me, as you know if you’ve read my blog for any length of time, but I am staying engrossed in just one project. And am I ever making progress. Springtime in Paris is one-quarter finished. Slightly … Continue reading
The stack of 90 rosy towers. All ready to be stitched to melons which means the fun is about to really begin — nothing but lovely curved piecing. Every one of them has been pressed and the seams graded. If you click … Continue reading
I’ve been busy. And have made this many more rosy towers to add to the … … growing stack of them. Which really is growing when I look at them side by side with the empty spool beside them. And the … Continue reading
Where did I go? To stitch more and more of these. The stack of finished rosy towers is growing. But there are many more yet to be stitched. I’m really, really hoping I get this stack finished this week because … Continue reading
