I couldn’t resist and so made another of the Monet New York Beauty blocks on the weekend. This one definitely goes in the Monet group.
Seams graded and block pressed. These are such fun blocks to put together – lots of continuous stitching, sharp points and some curved piecing just to add to the delight. Definitely my kind of block. I think once I get the next 7 or 8 of the various New York Beauty blocks done that I will start playing with them up on the design wall and put together the first top.
Seeing the Tiffany Lamp and Monet blocks together has me thinking about putting the first top together using all the blocks and arranging them so that the perhaps the Monet blocks are in the centre, surrounded by the Tiffany Lamp blocks. It will be fun to play with the block placement and see what kind of different looks I can get.
In today’s “How to Help Your Human” Baxtertoon, he’s demonstrating the finer points of block placement.
The look on his face in this photo makes me laugh. And the fact he has one of his toy mice right under his leg.
So beautiful!
