Remember this box full of the pieces to finish …
… this top?
The box is now empty. All the hand piecing was finished last night around midnight. Now all that’s left is the machine piecing to add the first plain border and then the outer pieced border.
More of the red and white fabrics are washed and ready to cut for those borders. It’s supposed to be quite hot this weekend, so I’m not sure about sitting at the machine with the weight of the top draped all over me as I stitch those borders on. But perhaps I’ll turn up the air conditioning and just get it done. The next time the top is seen it will be a completed one.

I love how those blocks come together and the beautiful secondary patten they create. I look forward to seeing it with its borders attached…like framing a picture…borders addd even more presence

Oh Cathie, this quilt is just so beautiful! You must be so pleased with all your effort, it will be an heirloom once complete. Also loving all those wonderful New York beauty blocks being produced, you certainly are having fun with those & I love the way you’re just marrying the batiks to come up with the perfect combination for each one.
