Fabric Plans

This group of fabrics could, I think, make a really pretty table topper.  I keep looking at them and daydreaming about some patterns I think would show them off.  But until the baby quilt is done, daydreaming is all that will happen about that design idea.  The reason I want to finish the baby quilt so fast?  Because I’d like to have it finished while we can still take photos out on the roof garden.  It is going together quite quickly, but it will take me at least another 3 weeks to finish it.

All of the above is a way of letting you know that quilt content here may be in rather short supply as I’m keeping this one under wraps until it’s done.  I may miss a day or two here and there while I complete this little quilt.  Or I may just keep showing groups of fabrics I’m daydreaming about turning into projects.

By Tuesday afternoon, the after-effects of the migraine were gone and I felt back to normal.  However, I am once again behind in replying to comments and visiting blogs but will remedy that over the next few days.

Today we get to see what the new grocery store in the retail part of our complex is like.  We are so spoiled with a full grocery store in the building but while it has been closed for renovations for the past few months we’ve had to find other grocery stores in the area at which to shop.  I will be so glad to have the convenience back of having that store downstairs.  Because we were so used to the store always being there and open 7 days a week, we never really planned and did a big shop at any one time but would just pop downstairs and pick up whatever was needed on a daily basis.  It was a real eye-opener having to think ahead when going out to shop once or twice a week.

Lester spent some time on the windowsill Tuesday.  Smudge was there earlier in the day as a few pigeons decided to come investigate the roof garden, but no photo as he was moving the whole time he was on the windowsill.

However, we did get this shot of him later in the day.

  1. So glad that your migraine is gone! They are just terrible to have! I am so jealous of you having a grocery store right there. How nice is that to get everything fresh whenever you need it?

  2. Yep a convienent grocery store is a treat. Since either Bob or I are working at our local store everyday except Wednesday, it’s soooo easy to do a quick shop :0)

  3. Your fabrics are lovely and I’ll just bet that when you get to shampooing your hair your perfect design will come to you! 🙂
I can’t wait to see the finished baby quilt and you are whipping it up quickly!
Having a grocery store in your complex sounds neat! At least you don’t have to drive to pick up groceries!

  4. Yes keep showing us groups of fabrics. It’s always fun to see which fabrics other quilters own.

We lived on a farm when I was a child and Mother only shopped every 2 weeks. It was a dairy farm so we had our own milk. I live 8 blocks from a grocery store so I shop frequently.

  5. Honestly, I would love to see a series (or hodgepodge) of fabric combination photos. It’s always so interesting and informative to see what someone else is thinking about using together.

And if you wanted to “recycle” older posts about your stash and how you choose what to purchase, as well as organize/store it, those are always interesting topics too.

It’s good for all of us to step back and review the familiar rather than always seeking out or expecting new content. Lots of bloggers have “wordless days” when they just show pics or revisit previous topics.

  6. How awful to suffer migraines. I hope you’re back to yourself now.
Those fabrics are delicious!! and you have a store just downstairs from you.. WOW! That puts the ‘convenient’ into convenient store well and truly. How many stores is your building? I’m always intrigued when you speak of your roof top garden.

You do so good to post regularly Cathi. I find it hard to think of what to put my progress on anything is so slow but I think Debbie has some great ideas.

I think like you that I too may end up regretting not getting the EQ7 at the intro price, LOL… ah well..

Kitties looking gorgeous as always :))) hugs Ellyx

  7. Glad the migraine is gone! You are so lucky to have a convenient grocery store. I wish I had a market to walk to or even a good produce stand. Lovely kitty photos as always.

  8. Oh yes, those fabrics will make a lovely table topper. Migraines are so horrible. Glad you are feeling better. I am still having squabbles between Buddy and Callie. Aeris just hides out. LOL We are working on it, though. Have a great week. Winona

  9. Oh what pretty, summery fabrics! Yes, a table topper will be beautiful. I just sent my cold bags, boat bags/wicker hamper basket, cold packs, list and money off the island yesterday afternoon on the park boat. It was picked up on the other side and between now and Friday my sweet gal will shop and then put on the 11:00am barge on Sat. Then, I’ll meet it on this side, haul it all to the house and put away. Yes, you are VERY lucky indeed!
Lovely photos of Lester and Smudge.
So happy your migraine went away.
