The Inklingo 12″ Winding Ways collection was released on the weekend and I immediately printed enough for one block. I initially thought I’d make a lap quilt using the large block in a different fabric but, as soon as I got the collection, I decided to do just one of the block for now in the same red and white as the tiny 3″ blocks. This is going to be the centre of the quilt and will be surrounded by lots and lots of the tiny ones.
The back, after pressing and grading the seams. The one long centre piece instead of the usual two pieces makes a big difference in getting perfect centres with less bulk.
I sewed that block by hand but am thinking about making a lap quilt made of the 12″ blocks and when I do, I’ll use the sewing machine. The curves are so gentle that it will be easy to sew this by machine.
Then, just because, I put two of the little ones with the large block. If I make the quilt the size I’m thinking, I’ll be making a couple of hundred of the tiny blocks. It’s a good thing they’re so much fun to sew!
I think Baxter was less than impressed with having yet another photo taken.

I got behind answering comments. I read and appreciate every one and will do my best to answer them.

The photo with the two sizes shown together sure gives me perspective on the sizes, Cathi! Cute block, and I love the red and white! 🙂

The 12 inch one is lovely, that long centre piece eliminates the bulk, and the “toon” poster billboard, well done to all the men who toiled to get it there. You know Who I mean!

I love the look of red and white quilts. So I have a feeling the little red blocks are going to multiply until I”ve got a rather large quilt.
