Now that I’ve been stitching these for a couple of weeks, I’m getting into a routine of stitching a few of the arcs each evening until I have 8 or 10 of them and then add them to the clamshells. I think that process is faster as, once the arcs are done, I can easily stitch 5 or 6 of them in an evening on to the clamshells. I sort of timed it and I think putting each arc together takes about 40 minutes. Adding an arc to its clamshell takes much less time, as I can stitch 3 or 4 of those in an hour. Tomorrow I’ll be showing these as well as another five new ones together with all the others that I’ve finished to date for the month-end clamshell report.
Looking out at the roof garden on Tuesday afternoon, I was surprised at just how many leaves had fallen on to the grass. There still are lots of green leaves on the trees, but it’s sure a sign that fall is definitely here no matter how much I may want to deny it.
Lester got in some windowsill time on Tuesday.
While Smudge was reclining on a chair.

Wow, you really can finish quite a bit in an evening! I love how they look. Can’t wait to see more. Yes, it is too bad that fall is on its way. Cooler weather and snow is not what I look forward too. But the cats will be nice and cozy inside.

You have such a nice assortment of florals that you are using in these blocks. Well done, as usual.

The Pickled Ladies are just heavenly! I’d never have guessed how stunning large old-fashioned florals and black/white could be! Yes, fall is here too…lots of fog each morning while the air temps drop and the hills are starting to show a bit of color. Smudge seems to be playing musical chairs…or he was planning to check his cat-mail on the computer!

You are really flying through these. All gorgeous as usual. The boys both look nice and comfy. Winona

that sounds like a good way to do it, have the arcs made ahead of time and then a lot of blocks finish at the same time.
Leaves are starting to turn and certain kinds of trees are dropping some leaves already. I like fall, the cool nights and crisp air.

I have been following with interest your Pickled Ladies piecing. This is absolutely, without a doubt, the most intriguing pattern for clamshells that I’ve ever seen!
I was *almost* tempted .. I mean >thisclose< to putting it on my To Do list, when I realized, with some dismay, that I really had no business adding to that list; it was huge enough already.
So, along with admiring hand-quilting without feeling the need to do any myself, I will find virtual joy in your progress!
It really is an awesome pattern and I love the way you have fussy cut a flower to be centered in each clamshell. The arc look just like shining crowns. Simply a beautiful pattern.
Well done!
