New York Beauties

Over the past few weeks, I’ve made four more of the Monet and Tiffany Lamp New York Beauty blocks. There are still many to be made and more printing of the shapes on to fabric to be done. There’s not one part of making these blocks that isn’t fun. Lots of continuous stitching, loads of curved piecing, and all those lovely sharp points. These are my kind of blocks!

For fun, I put all the ones I’ve finished up on the design wall. Seeing them together makes me think I’ll be doing a third or fourth in this series that will incorporate both the Monet and Tiffany colourways. I’m going to be adding quite a few more batiks to the mix that work perfectly either in the Monet or Tiffany Lamp colourways. I love the look of the batiks with the metallic prints.

Today is the second day of Canadian Quilters Connect, Blogathon Canada. I’m looking forward to this week and finding new-to-me Canadian quilting bloggers. Yesterday the blogathon kicked off with Quilting Gallery. Today’s host blogs are both from British Columbia – Felicity Quilts and Blueberry Patch. Each host blog will have a giveaway, so that’s 14 prizes you can enter to win. I am thrilled about the prize that will be up for grabs on my blog on Saturday.

Baxter has been playing in his game room with his pals over the weekend on the Baxter MyPad.

After all that play time, he was crashed on his kitty tree.
