Two of the five blocks I need for the next row are completed. If I’m going to meet my self-imposed goal of having the row together and stitched to the previous rows by the end of the weekend as well as stitch at least one of the pickle dish blocks as soon as the collection is released, there will be a lot of stitching in the next few days for me. It’s going to be lovely and warm and sunny today but then I think there’s a fair bit of rain in the forecast. The rain may be a good thing as I’ll be content to stay in and stitch.
As well as checking the previous row to make sure I’ve got the parts that will make the circle in the right position, I check which way the previous row was pressed so that I can press the blocks for the next row to make it easy to get flat intersections when they’re all joined. It takes only a second and makes it so much easier to join and press. The back of one of the two blocks:
I got a lot of pieces printed on Thursday for more Alabama Beauty blocks as well as all the pieces needed for the remaining six Farmer’s Delight blocks.

Quilt Obsession 
Isn’t it crazy how we impose goals upon ourselves? But at least we will be able to see more of this beautiful quilt sooner. I’ll tell you I felt like Smudge this morning, just didn’t want to move.

I find I work better if I set goals for myself. One thing I did learn however was not to set the bar too high in order to make the goals a ‘chore’ to achieve. Yours are ambitious but I have faith in you! *wink*
I’m looking forward to the rain this weekend because I just came inside from fertilizing the front and back yards. Better than snow, huh?

I’m glad to know that others impose goals upon themselves also. I wonder if the ladies of days gone by did, like Jane?!?!
I use to think that they didn’t have to, that they would sew instead of TV or computer,etc. However, living so simply like we do, I tend to think that they would have had to do this also. The days just fly by for me. Without conveniences, everything takes more time and there’s always something that can steal your sewing time if you let it. Just never ending. I love your blog, you make me think about things in a different way. Still amazes me how we live in complete opposite ways and yet have so much in common in our thoughts and love of sewing. AND TOILE! 🙂

I enjoy seeing the roof garden. There is just something about gardens. In my garden, I discovered a beautiful white tulip in the middle of one of my beds. The funny thing is, I never planted any tulips!

Love the picture of your roof garden. Plants have grown so fast here in the last couple of weeks, though it has been very dry. I always like Spring green leaves best!
