Pink and Red Top Done

My hope was to finish the top this weekend — and I did.  It finishes at 27″ and will be, I suppose, a Valentine’s Day wallhanging.  I had no plan to make a Valentine’s Day quilt but the timing and the colours  make it pretty obvious that that’s what I have done!

Now I’m thinking about what project I’ll choose as my Olympics project — something to work on while watching the various events.  A few more of the Farmer’s Delight blocks are definitely on the possible list, as is a green and blue Winding Ways project, working on the POTC blocks, beginning a table runner for which I have a design idea — and the list goes on!  Whatever I choose as my Olympics project is one that I am going to try to finish during the Olympics.

Lester seems much better.  This is a shot we got of him over the weekend.   He has been very alert and playing with kitty toys and seems like himself.

Smudge, on the other hand, has been getting in some heavy-duty training for the lounging event.

  1. Your Winding Ways looks just beautiful! Yes, it is perfect for Valentine's day. I love it, great job. Lester is looking quite handsome and boy do I wish I was all snuggled up like Smudge.

  2. Great finish (almost), Cathi. I love the colors and the illusion of a circle in the centre.I plan to have a lot of handwork ready while "watching" the Olympics as well. I listen while stitching and then watch the replays of the exciting parts. Thank goodness for replays.

  3. First of all this is my most favorite quilt you've made yet. I love it. And the idea of working on something during a big event like the Olympics is a great idea. When it was in Utah years ago I had influenza. I watched most of it but I was so sick I did nothing else. Glad that isn't the case this year!!

  4. Thanks for explaining about the Inklingo winding way blocks Cathi! Your quilt looks stunning! We’re looking forward to the Winter Olympics. I guess we will stay up long nights to watch games and skating! Not sure if I’m alert enough to work on a handproject too…LOL!
