My hands are really bothering me again, so I’m grateful that I tend to print and cut out lots of shapes for different blocks. Much as I want to do another Farmer’s Delight block right now, there is no way I can cut the shapes out until this flare-up dies down. But no worries as I have many projects on the go, ready to stitch.
Tuesday night, I decided to play with the Drunkard’s Path units I had stitched. This is one of the 6″ blocks I put together.
Oh, how I love that Rouenneries fabric! The back of it:
A few of the little spool blocks were put together as well. These are very quick to make and a little doll’s quilt will be done relatively quickly.

Each time you show the spools my heart skips that extra little beat of excitement! Love the colors! I hope your hand isn't bothersome too much. I can always rely on coming here daily for not only my kitty fix with the boys but to see your latest block creation.As for the boys…it appears they are in the bath…do they realize that this is winter olympics and we are having no swimming?!! Hee! Oh one more thing as I'm chuckling…you always say that you think this is the best picture…I agree they just keep getting better and better.

The blocks look fantastic. I certainly can empathize with you about the hands hurting. You definitely need to rest them before continuing on. But you will get back in the swing of things soon, I know you will.

I love your little blocks. I have a stack of batik charms waiting to become drunkards path blocks in the size you pictured. How did you cut yours? I plan to use the acrylic template I purchased from Elisa's Backporch. I made a test block and the template worked great.

Sorry about your hands…I can sympathize. I have had to take a break from knitting for much the same reason.Love the fabs for the drunkard's path. Great colors!! Hmmm…I have a red's collection in my sewing room (somewhere)!! :)Love the picture of the boys…Lester is looking so regal and Smudge has that lounging thing down.

I love the little hexagons that the spool blocks make on the back when you swirl the seam allowance :)Take care of your hands….they are very important to all the hand piecing you do. It's so nice to see someone else who hand pieces. I'm working on a dresden plate right now, but have a couple other hex/elongated hex quilts I'm working on as well. Keep on stitching!

Loved these past few posts…. I am so impressed with everything that you shared….but as a self taught…who always struggles …loved the closeups of the pressing! I so wish I could learn to press those seams! And the Farmers Delight….is gorgeous. I so want to make one.

Love those little blocks CathiIt is amazing how different a block can look when you change up the fabrics. I am used to a solid looking Drunkard's path and yet it looks great with the busy print too!

I love your little spool blocks Cathi and the Rouenneries fabric. I have a layer cake of it ear marked for a little quilt.Your curved piecing is amazing. I've come to the conclusion after a few rubbish attempts at curved hand piecing that I'm not very good at it. I tend to be all fingers and thumbs. I think I get a better result appliqueing curves ;)) Take care of your hands they do beautiful work š hugs Elly
