I just couldn’t help myself! I had printed diamonds, squares and QST’s on a number of the fabrics for Tropical Punch on the weekend. They just kept calling to me. Right now working with those ’30s reproduction prints is not as enticing. I think it has a lot to do with wishing for warm weather. This will be the centre of the next octagon star.

I love the Laurel Burch fabrics and have quite a collection of them here. I look at them, fall in love with them all over again … but don’t think I can even begin to cut some of them up at all!! Some of these are small panels that will, I think, just get sandwiched and quilted. Others are larger pieces.
When I think about it, I can’t really remember seeing a quilt made from these glorious fabrics. I wonder how many of us have a collection of the Laurel Burch fabrics that we look at and love but haven’t put into quilts.
We didn’t pose this. Smudge seems to want to curl up with teddy bears. He’s not particular, it seems. Just about any teddy bear he can find will do just fine. Tonight he found two.

I love it when Lester curls up in his kitty bed like this. Sometimes he tucks his head right under and we have to look for a minute to find it.

I do have just such a collection of Laurel Burch fabrics! What a perfect way to use them. The would also look great mixed with Kaffe Fassett fabrics.

When I was a kid our dog had a false pregnancy. She dragged a blanket into the closet and took several of our stuffed animals there and slept with them. So sweet, so sad.Love the octagon star. I like LB fabrics, too, but find them hard to use — they scream “Laurel Burch”, so you have to use them to show that off.

I have stated my Laurel Burch quilt by doing some of the embroideries on my embroidery machine. I need to keep at it, make a goal of so many blocks a week, or it may not get done in my lifetime.

And that means STARTED, not stated! LOL, fingers, listen to me!

I have a nice collection of Laurel Burch fabric as well. I have seen a few quilts made from her fabric but I think most people have a tendency to make bags and wall hangings with the panels. I have the fabric and the mermaid panel – I was thinking of using it to make a big bag. Pets are so funny sometimes. Jenny likes to curl up in her basket on her back in the most unlady like positions sometimes.

I’ve made her Felines and Canines quilt with the Kindred Spirits fabric – it’s waiting to be sandwiched and quilted. And I’ve got the panel from her mythical horses, together with the embroidery CD from the same collection. And I think I’ve got at least one other kit to make another quilt with her fabric.

I bought a pack of 8 Laurel Burch FQ’s, because of the wonderful colours. I intended to make a quilt for one of my grandsons, but I can’t bring myself to cut into the fabrics! I just spread them out on the bed, admire them, then put them away again! I think they would be nice to make a book cover/writing case thingy.

A few have been given away and the ones I now have are always on the go.I need to make one of those kitty beds for my girls. Thanks for the tips on your hand piecing tools.

I have several Laurel Burch fabrics, but the only ones I’ve been able to cut were the “accessory”-type fabrics, such as the stars fabrics.
