Leaf Watching, Kitty Style

The leaves are falling off the trees on the roof garden and when it’s windy they fly by the windows. The kitties are spending a lot of time on the window sill watching those leaves!

We got this shot after they had both been wide-eyed watching leaves fly by. Lester was heading off to a snooze in a favourite kitty spot.

Smudge, on the other hand, was not quite finished. Of course, he had to pose for the camera before going back to the leaf chasing.

I guess it’s no big surprise we can’t stop taking pictures of him! Look at this face!

Sunday was an odd day — very windy, heavy rain at times and then, around dinner hour, it got very dark. The sky was an odd colour, which didn’t really get picked up too well in this shot, and about ten minutes after this was taken there was incredibly bright lightning and then a very loud sound of thunder. No rain though — the rain all fell earlier in the afternoon. Apparently the wind this afternoon was so strong that it knocked over a fairly large tree somewhere in the city.

On a quilt-related note, I do have the fifth snow crystal block finished but haven’t pressed it yet so no pictures till that’s done. Have begun the sixth block. I just cannot stop making these!!

  1. What *is* it with cats and leaves? Yesterday I thought Zoomer was going to blast through the patio door – I thought there was another cat out there because he was going ballistic – he looked rather embarrassed when I told him it was only fall foliage πŸ˜‰ Wouldn’t life be boring without our kitties to entertain us?!

  2. Sunday I woke up to this screaming and wimpering sound on our front porch. I thought someone maybe left our little dog outside or something. I opened the door and there were 2 kittens – maybe 6-8 weeks old. Shivering and crying. I tried to go to them but they ran away. I don’t know if the mom cat abandoned them or someone dropped them off – both have happened at our house before. They must smell our other cats. Anyway we fed them. The little tortishell will let you pick it up but the orange one runs. So they are wild. I don’t really know what else to do for them. Maybe I should try to trap them and take them to a shelter. Your cats are so cute.

  3. We had our share of gloomy, wet, windy weather this weekend… I was out walking the fur-girls when a massive wind and rain hit us twice in a short little walk…it was weird, and well as wet and very cold… The only one impressed with the walk was the youngest, Ruby!!!

  4. Love the cat shots! What is it with cats and leaves? Mine love to watch the leaves as they blow onto the solarium roof. You’d think they were looking at a bird or something! They even make little quivering sounds! Can’t wait to see a photo of the latest Snow Crystal block.
