Selecting Fabrics

I’m working on a small project that will be finished in a matter of just a few hours and wanted something really cheerful and bright. After playing with a few different combinations, this was the one I settled on. It has exactly the look I’m after.

Yesterday afternoon I figured out what I needed to print and had everything ready within minutes. Cut everything out and got started stitching last night. A couple more hours and it will be done.

It rained and rained and rained here yesterday. Guess that’s what inspired today’s ‘toon.

  1. “And they swam and they swam all over the dam…” For some reason this song is humming away in my head this morning as I see this ‘toon. I think it was about fish or ducks or both. Love the clouds. Can’t wait to see what you are making with these bright and cheerful fabrics. Baxter looks comfy and settled in for a rainy afternoon.

    • “down in the meadow in an itty bitty pool
swam three little fishies and a mama fishy too
‘swim’ said the mama, ‘swim if you can’
and they swam and they swam,
      all over the dam”

google “Three Little Fishies” song and you will find links to various artists singing it. In case you want more . . . ~ Linne

  2. I imagine you will come up with a very nice block with those prints!
Why is Cappy by himself? His own little raft? And where is his raincoat, poor thing?
We had a dusting of snow last night, rain is good!

  4. Rain is headed our way today so this is a great Baxtertoon for our weather too. Love the little yellow raincoats and hats! Baxter has the right idea for a rainy day. Can’t wait to see your little project. Great spring colors.
