No flowers for a couple of weeks, but Tuesday night I decided to make the remaining blossoms for the Little Blossoms Top. I’m going to use some of the hexagon flowers I’ve made using .50″ hexagons around the outer perimeter of this top and some small stars made with .50″ diamonds.
Right now the little top measures approximately 11″ x 6″. Once the other blossoms are added with the green hexagons, and then the flowers and stars, I think it will probably finish at about 20″. I have no real plan but am just playing with placement of the blossoms as I go.
We had a lot of rain on Tuesday. The heat and humidity are building and it really feels like summer. This is such a nice change from last year — the year of the summer that wasn’t. It sounds like the weekend will be quite hot and humid and sunny — perfect for spending time on the roof garden. My hands feel a lot better so I’m hoping to get Chintz Circles basted on Thursday and start the quilting. With any luck, I’ll finish the quilting by Sunday and can spend time out on the roof garden tacking down the binding Sunday afternoon.
Smudge was lounging in the pink chair, looking like he was deep in thought — probably about when the yogourt was going to appear.
Lester took advantage of a rainy day and snoozed on the couch.

great blossoms! I really do like the colourcombination. And those kitties are beauties!

The random placement of your tiny blossoms is very interesting, much more so than the usual flower garden layout! Smudge looks very alert doesn’t he, and Lester is doing what kitties do best…..snoozing.

Cathi, I have missed popping by. I have also missed quilting, just don’t have the time while I am gardening.
I am using sensitive toothpaste, I think I may have a crack in this tooth as well…….
Dh is going to the BMO centre, next to the Convention Centre on Saturday night.

Love you flowers…..wouldn’t they be perfect for a summer centerpiece. I have a flower garden top ready to be quilted but it is too hot here to quilt now. ( I am a hand quilter that can only stand so much air conditioning.) Wish you had some of our heat and we had some of your rain but we take what we get!!! Love to the boys.

I think those are the tiniest hexies I’ve ever seen! We had some heat the last two days, now rain. I did hit the pool on those two days though! I so hope we get a real summer but at least we’re not flooded out like they are out west…

So happy to hear your hands are feeling better. This is wonderful news!
What a nice thing to be able to sit out in the garden and sew! Very nice. I imagine your little kitties looking down at you from their perch! 🙂

That picture of Lester makes him look body-less! And Smudge’s green eyes really show up in that one.
Nice to be able to sit outside and sew and not feel as if you have to do the gardening, isn’t it?

Those little blossoms are darling! About the time I think I’ve seen every variety of hexies…a new one appears…and I love it!!! I think your cats are not adequately impressed with your skills…we want to see a bit more enthusiasm over such wonderful stitching!!! 🙂
