My first block is finished. For me, this is an enormous block — it finishes at 15″. Now the decision is whether to make more of this identical block in various colours or make others using different blade shapes. The variations that are possible in the new Fancy Pieced Collection are seemingly endless. Stitching the little rows of triangles together was quick, lots of lovely continuous stitching. I’m still not sure if I like the centre I used and may well replace it with a circle of the pink fabric I used in the block.

Lester, looking oh so innocent. What he’s really doing is trying to sneak up on that glass of water. We’ve caught him many times drinking out of an unattended glass of water.

I think this is my favorite block of all, Cathi. I just love the movement and even though you say it was easy to make, it looks extremely difficult to me.Love it!

Oh my friend, this is a particularly special, beautiful, lovely block. I quite enjoy the soft color you used. I'm considering this one of these – seriously. Just can't decide. Actually, I'm thinking of the block size, too. That is a big one. A good place to start a Medallion quilt.Okay and Lester, I love seeing the "caught in the act moments" more than anything. Well, almost anything. They're so funny! Yeah, and what the heck was Smudge looking at? That's darn near close to something Kingston would show up with.

Wow. This block is amazing. I really do love it. Maybe you should put a piece of the pink fabric in the center and just see how it looks. I like it as it is, but I'm always trying different things like that. Amazing job.

I just love your bloc and I could imagine it in so many colours. As for Lester, are you sure it was him drinking out of the glass ? ;-)You know that cats don't do things like that 😉 When you happen to catch them, they look at you like saying "it's not me" 😉

Cathi, The block is just beautiful! You should definitely do more. I think it would add a lot of interest if each block were made with different fabrics. Maybe different fabrics on the inside and different on the outside. I tend to think that the more scrappier the more interesting the quilt becomes. Oh, I know that kitty face. We have had a stealing of water or milk from a glass in our day. They can be naughty at times and look oh so innocent.

I love the block and it's center too.Funny how a 20+ pound cat thinks it can be inconspicuous. Like our 20 pound cat trying to sneak into my lap LOL.Crispy

Love that block. Stan is exactly the same. He doesn't think we can see him when he sneaks up on the sofa without being asked. Love and hugs Gina xxx

Yet another fabulous block!! You are so productive; I love each project you start. I had a cat named Lucien who loved to drink out of glasses. He had his own glass of water and preferred that over a bowl of water. He was a funny guy, loved yogurt and french fries. I still miss him every day after he passed away several years ago. 14 years was not enough.

I LOVE that block. I agree the center maybe fades away a little too much, but I wonder if you really want the same fabric as the blades. Then they might look too connected to the center. Maybe a pink fabric a shade lighter than the blades.

We can no longer leave water OR food unattended as Sassy will dip her paw in the water and take off with the food. We've never had to worry about the cats stealing food before…the dogs, yes, but never a cat. She definitely lives up to her name!
