The final block for the lap quilt is done. It seems only appropriate that this final block should have some purple in it, considering the very first block I did of these, which is found here, was definitely purple and many of the blocks in between have had purple in them. I don’t think I’ve ever enjoyed making a block as much as I have these.

Now to start joining each block to its surrounding cream hexagons. On the weekend I will try to get a good shot of all the blocks together, but that will be dependent on the weather. No design wall and a design floor with 2 inquisitive kitties just is not a good idea.
The back:
Thursday Lester was enjoying some time on the windowsill in the late afternoon.

Smudge, on the other hand, was in yet another of his poses.

Same pose, from a different angle. He is wide awake as soon as he hears the camera turned on but holds the pose. It’s so funny to see his eyes are wide open. I must have taken 9 or 10 shots of him and he didn’t move a muscle.

Hooray on getting the last pretty block done. I'll enjoying seeing you get them sewn into a top.I know I've said this before, but Smudge really knows how to be comfortable, he could give other kitties a lesson in relaxation LOL.Crispy

Congrats on all the blocks!! This is going to be one fantastic quilt. I totally understand not using a design floor with the cats. You will end up with a totally different layout than you had originally planned.

YAY!! Final block! I think it will look magnificent all together and cream is definitely a good choice to join them with. I used white in a queen size charm square quilt for my daughter and in retrospect I should have used cream. Can't wait to see!

I am so glad you got the last block done. It is just as pretty as all the rest. Lester is a handsome boy, but that Smudge is a character. LOL It is like he is posing for the camera. Cats! Wouldn't life be dull without them? LOL Winona

I am so anxious to see how you are going to sew the block together. Do you trim off all the points, or do you some how piece them in the next block? I will stay tuned for the next step!

Okay, this one is called Blueberry Pie. #29 reminds my of grapes on a vine. Your blocks are stunning. It is a shame your kitties are so camera shy and unphotogenic! LOL!
