Block 20 — well, block 20 just had to have all these different stripes in it, all pink or with pink. I couldn’t resist putting these all together and love the effect!

What an incredible weekend — Saturday very damp and quite cool with temps only in the high teens. Sunday? Sunday was absolutely glorious with temps in the high 20’s and a humidex in the low 30’s (all Celsius). Hot, humid and sunny. Perfect weather for the first day of summer. I live for this hot humid weather every summer. My theory is we need it to thaw out after our winters. The best part? We’re supposed to have this lovely hot, humid weather most of the week.
The planters outside buildings are all a riot of colour. This is just one example outside a building across the street:

Saturday we were out for a while and when I saw these leaves with the raindrops on them, I had to take a picture. The colour of the leaves is incredibly vibrant.
Lester enjoying the windowsill:
Smudge also enjoying it. Check out the crossed paws. He makes me laugh with these poses!

I love the leaves with the raindrops. The pot is pretty too. That gives me an idea to put a mini trellis in a pot next year and have something growing up it. that almost looks like a topiary in that pot.

Checkout the Monster Size Kitty Crossed Paws I'd say. What a fantastically fun photo. Cathi, I really love the effect of the strips in this block, too. Really amazing. Again you with the great gift of fabric combos!

I always chuckle when I hear how much you enjoy the humid days of summer and I do realize why. If we had the intense cold weather that you have, I would probably be wishing the same. I love the colors and the patterns of your elongated hexagons. They're beautiful!! And the boys are as cute as ever. I always stop and star at Mouse when he crosses his paws too. Something about it looks too human too me, kwim?Aloha!

The stripes really make the block. I bought some fabrics today that I think might work for my future project like yours.

So did the inspiration for the pink block come from the lovely pink flowers across the way? They are stunning, and so's the block!I don't mind the heat so much, but the humidity is getting to me!
