Bits and Pieces

There are nine little 9-patch blocks I have done for the one a day quilt along. The fabrics are actually a bit brighter than they appear in this shot.

A couple more little flowers added to whatever this is going to grow up to be. I’m still not sure where I’m headed with this but, when I need a hexagon fix, it’s the thing I pick up. I put a 1-cent coin on it so you could see the size of these hexagons — all with .50″ sides. I’ve always loved hexagon quilts and now, using Inklingo, they’re an absolute delight to stitch; a simple running stitch makes them so much fun. No basting, no whipstitching — just lots and lots of lovely quick running stitches. On these ones, as the seams are so tiny, it’s just one load of stitches on the needle and each little seam is done.

Thursday I had a cyst removed from my lower eyelid. The eye doctor froze the area well and the only thing I really felt was the pressure as he drained the cyst but by the time night came, it was hurting. The worst of this? Trying to get the antibiotic eye drops in my eye. I could put contact lenses in my eyes from now until forever without a problem but eye drops? More will run down my face than will ever get in my eye!

Yet another favourite picture of Lester.

And an extra fluffy Smudge with — well, I’m not sure. Perhaps he’s working up to a lounge lizard look in this one.

  1. Oh my. I didn’t realize yesterday was a little clinical for you. Glad it went well. Is it difficult to get seen by a Dr up there? The rhetoric about universal healthcare down here can get scary ya know?I’ve already offered up my silly note for today on Smudge. This picture reinforces it for me.Love Lester is his majestic Lion King poses. …and Cathi, you know how I feel about those cute little nine patches. I’m your pal with those!

  2. Cathisorry to hear about your eye… with the kids, I get them to close their eye THEN I put the drops in the corner, when they open their eye, the drops run into their eye.. I do this with them laying down.. seems to work ok! LOL I thought of you straight away when I seen it!Lissa

  3. I don’t do well with eye drops, either. In fact, when it comes time to put eye drops in for my patients, my eyes water sympathetically so much, I have to blink a lot just to see what I’m doing!I can’t believe how tiny those hexagons are!

  4. You’re working on more projects than I can even imagine and they all look great.I hope your eye is on the mend by now. I know exactly what you mean about the eye drops. I have a difficult time putting anything in my eyes. The boys look as handsome as ever. Had to laugh at the lounge lizard remark. Too funny.Aloha!
