Tropical Punch Blocks

The four Tropical punch blocks are finished. Now to figure out how I want to set them. Should they become a long table runner — about 50″ more or less?

Or would they become a square wall hanging that would finish at approximately 25″?

My initial thought was to use this gold as the setting fabric, but now I’m thinking about a really bright green batik or even a pink/purple batik, neither of which I have at the moment. Hmm, maybe a trip to the LQS is in order. I like the gold fabric but to keep it really bright and feeling tropical tropical, I’m thinking the green or pink/purple idea might be better. The four blocks were incredibly fast to go together, using the 6.0 LeMoyne Star Inklingo collection.

I’m working on another of the sky quilt corner blocks right now. I have this one to finish, the last one to do and then it will be on to the rainbow.

Lester doesn’t much care as long as he has a cozy kitty bed to curl up in.

Smudge looking rather regal, I think.

  1. The blocks are lovely-the gold is very pretty -will you audition the green? I like the table runner configuration…Smudge does look regal. Usually he is the one sleeping.

  2. The blocks are gorgeous – I think the yellow background is great! They’d make a perfect summer tablerunner if it ever warms up here, lol! As always your boys are gorgeous hunks πŸ™‚

  3. The gold is nice but doesn’t really make your blocks pop.I think that the green idea is a good one…after all you will have to go to the LQS LOL. Be sure you take you blocks so you can get everyone’s opinions. You never know, you might find something totally different then what you are envisioning.Crispy

  4. I like the gold but would also be tempted to see what else is available. Maybe take your blocks with you and see what works best. Kitties are too cute! Lester looks very snuggly and I love Smudge’s big paws!

  5. Hmmmm… hard to pick, but if I were to REALLY pick, I like the tablerunner better. And the gold background seems to me the perfect color to go with the blocks. They are ABSOLUTELY beautiful!
