There were a few questions about the silk batt I mentioned on Monday. This is what I’m using. It is very easy to work with and, while it is more expensive than a cotton batt, for someone with limited hand strength it is pure joy to quilt through. I had no hand fatigue at all while with cotton I run into that problem very quickly.
The other thing I love about the silk batts is that even with heavy heavy machine quilting, they retain their lovely soft drape. Next time I have a quilt done by a long-arm quilter, I will definitely use one of these!
We had sun on Tuesday. I’m sure I’m wrong, but it feels like it has been weeks since we’ve had sun. I love the look of the roof garden with the snow when the sun is out.
I’m not sure if the boys were admiring the tree shadows on the snow or just posing.

Can a silk bat be washed? I love the fact that it drapes well!

Maybe they were looking to see if there were any BTRTC’s out there. Could be? Do squirrels have hidey holes for the winter or do them come out and scamper about in the sun?

Perhaps some time I’ll get to the point where I can try that silk batting. It sounds wonderful. Was there actually sunshine yesterday? I spent the day in bed with the flu – so I have NO idea what the weather was like. DH got it last week, and so of course, with my cold, I just HAD to have it too. 😦 It feels like I’ve lost a day.

What breed are your cats? My son and daughter-in-law have one that looks like you gray one. They are both beautiful.

Oh, I love the idea of no hand strain . . . it’s a constant battle for me to balance handwork that I love and keep from being sore *s*

I love the idea of a silk batting too. Let us know how you take care of your quilt if it needs a cleaning. But is sounds just lovely to work with.

Hi Cathi, hmmm…perhaps I should try that batting…somewhere in the future when my handiwork justifies such a fine batting ;o)I’ll sure keep that in mind…Your cats are so impressive…and they’re only sitting…Hugs, Julia
