Snow, Snow and More Snow

It snowed yesterday. And snowed.

And snowed some more. It started at daybreak and went on till about 6:00 p.m. The roads were apparently a nightmare, the commuter trains were delayed and/or cancelled, flights were cancelled, offices closed early. The wind chill value was around -23.

The worst of it? There’s more coming starting tonight. We have yet another storm warning for another “significant” storm that will start sometime tonight and go on through tomorrow.

We took advantage of it last night and went downstairs to the retail mall to do some last-minute shopping. We tend to buy a lot of books as gifts. Normally, the last Friday night before Christmas the line-ups at the bookstore would be unbelievably long. Last night? Last night we had our choice of cashiers, no crowds in the store and line-ups at all. May do the final bits of shopping tomorrow. The storm may hit but, when we don’t have to go outside to finish up the shopping, we won’t mind!

The kitties don’t worry about the weather. Smudge:

Lester, curled up and very cozy in his kitty bed. He seems to be fine, no repeat of that coughing or whatever it was.

  1. Whoa!! That is serious snow. I ran out to do errands before our ice storm hit and the bookstore and grocery store were both packed. Glad I went because the next morning schools were closed and events cancelled. How lucky for you that you don’t have to leave the indoors!

  2. I think your kitty just had a hair caught in his throat LOL. I’m glad they aren’t concerned about the snow. How convenient that you can just go downstairs to shop. That sounds kind of dangerous though. I might be doing more looking than I needed to if it was that convenient.

  3. I think the boys are dreaming about what might be in their stockings come Christmas morning! That was a nice little storm! I stayed home in the house, but my husband and sons were both out in it – hubby has a heavy work van so I don’t worry about him, but my 19 year old was driving around in his (smallish) truck – he did fine – the younger lad had to take public transit home from trade school – what’s normally a 1-1 1/2 hour trip, took over 3 hours because of the traffic and snow — eeeeeeeep!! They’re all out and about again today – my fingers are crossed that the roads are clear and that they make it safely!
