Another snow crystal block has been started. I have the 4 partial corner stars for the block done so, with any luck, I’ll have this block finished tomorrow. That will be 12 blocks done for this quilt. Now to decide how big it’s going to be. I have a feeling it’s going to end up larger than I anticipated — or that I’ll make two. Maybe two lap quilts with different settings. And maybe one with some black sashing.

A quilting friend (no-blog friend) and I are exchanging cuts of pinks to print our diamonds on for these blocks. These are the pinks I received from her. Not one duplication!! This is so much fun!!

Smudge really knows how to relax. It’s the front paws that get me — and he’s sound asleep in this shot.

Another shot of Lester when his ruff had been very recently combed. Give it 2 or 3 minutes and he has it all messy again, so every picture like this we manage to get I treasure!!

Those pinks are so pretty! I love pink, but dont have many in my stash.Smudge really knows how to relax! Lester looks regal.

Fabric exchanges are fun — pretty incredible that you didn’t have even a single duplication. And what a great photo of Smudge!

What a gorgeous block – you’re hand piecing these?? I had to click on it to see the center up close and it looks really well done.

Warning: Question Heavy Comment – Are you finding it increasingly difficult to distinguish pinks from apricots, salmons, etc.? How do you ensure all the pinks you select are pink enough to use in your pink quilt? Also, I need to ask the same question as Mary, are you hand piecing? If so,do you ever machine piece?

I think I have a bunch of those very pinks for my Dear Jane quilt. I see on the Dear Jane site that Linda Franz is offering a couple of pattern in Inklingo for free – I think that star pattern is one of them. I was thinking of downloading it and giving it a try. It is so pretty the way you are doing it in the pink fabric.

Cute pics of the kitties. Smudge looks far too comfortable and almost looks as if he is saying his kittie prayers. Lester always seems so serious and magestic and reminds me of a lion. It’s wonderful to have a nice assortment of pink fabrics to play with. In fact, any color will do. Have fun making this quilt. It looks fabulous so far!Aloha!
