This one cracked me up. It is so much fun to look at each block!

I love the look of this star within a star block and the flying geese border.

This was truly wonderful to look at — each kimono appeared to be in a different fabric.
One of the small quilts — the water lilies were dimensional and incredibly effective. This was definitely one of my favourites.

Looks like this winter is going to be a tough one — as far as hand pain goes, that is. The cream helps relieve the aching, which is great. However, I found today that when I picked up the iron to press something that I’ve got trouble on that front. I’m going to be on the hunt for a very light-weight but good iron, it seems. I thought my Black & Decker digital iron was relatively light but I clearly need something that’s much lighter. Any suggestions?
Another picture of Smudge in the window.

What I found really interesting about the quilt in the second picture was the mix of brights with pastels. I don’t recall seeing that mixture very often. It was definitely a striking combination.

Have you tried one of the little mini-irons? One comes with a couple different size tips. It seems that you only have little areas to be pressed not huge sections most of the time.

Also I meant to say that if you are going for a steam iron, look for one with a smaller capacity for water. They are lighter weight.

I have brought the book that has the water lilies. That is on my wish list to do some day. I fell in love with that too. When things slow down hope to be able to do these things.

I love the water lilies! What book is that from? Perhaps I should ask Kerri.

Hi Cathi,Please don’t let the pictures fool you — my house right is in a mess because I have done nothing but quilting in the last month or so. That’s why I was only showing a tiny “corner”… haha. I have been cleaning and re-organizing things since I shipped off the last pressing quilt yesterday! :)I love that star quilt — love how the background fabrics fit in the grand scheme of things to bring out the beauty of the stars.

Cathi, this was quite a show. I have to admit I love the star and geese, that’s a favorite but I’m really moved by the kimono quilt. That’s a “one of a kind” isn’t it? Amazing.

I’m not all that happy with my iron, either, so I’m no help…Love that diamond background water lilies quilt. It looks like it was inspired by Jan Krentz. I really like pieced backgrounds like that.
