I don’t know if I really overdid it with some stitching or if this is just the cooler weather setting off a real flare-up of arthritis, but my left wrist is unbelievably painful. However, a friend told me about a cream, that has no scent, which apparently really helps her so I’m going to try that.
On Sunday we headed to the York Heritage Quilt Show, “A Celebration of Quilts X”. There were some gorgeous quilts to be seen and some great vendors. I picked up some more of the YLI Heirloom thread, which is my absolute favourite for hand piecing and applique.
Now for some pictures from the show. I will post more pictures during the week.
I loved this one. It so perfectly captures how many of the trees now look.
This one was so rich looking. I was immediately drawn to it. Me, who has no red in my stash to speak of! Seeing something like this is making me re-think the idea of a red quilt. 
Just after I snapped this picture, a woman asked me if I liked it. Obviously, I said yes. The woman was the quilter who had made it — and it was the second quilt she had ever made! it’s so striking in the black and white!
And Smudge — leaf watching is a full-time occupation for the boys these days.

I’m not normally a ‘red’ person, but I love that one! I’m wondering if the fabrics have been ‘overdyed’ as none of them seem to clash at all. The little cornerstones are like jewels! I think it’s terrific!

Those are some beautiful quilts! I don’t know which is my favorite.Sorry to hear about your wrist–hope the cream helps it.Whatever are the furbabies going to do when all the leaves are finally off the trees?

I love that red quilt, and the first one that I assume was paper pieced.I use Castiva cream on my arthritic thumbs. It is really greasy and you have to leave it on for a half hour or so, so you can’t be doing anything else (but reading maybe). It works for me.

Well you know that Karen loves RED! I'm all for it. And the black & white is really something else. Striking is the word for it. Glad you had such fun and I'm even more happy you brought the camera along for us to share.And Smudge… well we love smudge!

Wow! The red quilt is STUNNING! I love it. I seem to be drawn to red quilts lately. Would you share the name of this cream? I have “issues” with my thumb. Wearing a brace helps, but sure does get in the way of doing handwork.

I love the tree one too. It is my elbow (right side) that flares up. And yes, just yesterday I said to my family “ugh this colder weather painful”. It is funny that our hobbies give us injuries! Well not so funny.

I was at the show on Sunday morning and the quilts were gorgeous! I took some close-up photos, but I bought the DVD and my DH made a CD from it for my computer. I walked away with fabric goodies from a couple of the vendors ….. I needed those fabrics like I need another hole in my head! :o)
