The Never-Ever Ending Quilt Label

I really under-estimated the time it would take to finish this label! However, all that’s left now is to attach two final little rows of half hexagons to give a straight edge to the interior and exterior right side of the label. Then to write all the names out on the centre panel.

And a whole lot of pressing to be done! I love how these work, though, when pressed. Each intersection of seam allowances will just fall into place, following the previous one.

We’re not sure what Lester was looking at in this photo — probably a shadow on the wall.

  1. OH-MY-GOD, Cathi…that’s beyond everything. Your label itself is a piece of art…! Would you mind labelling my quilts for me? *lol*I’ve downloaded the free inklingo project from Linda Franz’ website and I think I’ll give it a try soon…as soon as I’m finished with a million other things I’m currently working on *g*.Hugs, Julia

  2. Hi, Cathi — I had some computer problems so I’m just catching up. Will probably read your blog from today backwards. I always love your cat photos, but this one is an especially stunning pic.

  3. I always heard cats saw angels, so maybe that’s what Lester is looking at.That label has almost as much work in it as the quilt! Not sure I’ll ever go that route, but then, you never know…

  4. Stephanie D said that cats saw angels – we say that our cat can see ghosts. She stares off into the distance so long it makes you nervous and you start looking too! The label is amazing. You must have such an abundance of patience to handle those little patches.
