Friday Flowers

It is hot. Seriously hot. With the humidex, it’s around 36 and the air quality is awful! It feels so humid that I wonder when those of us who live in this type of climate will develop gills for breathing! I am NOT complaining, though. I’ll take this over cold windy snowy winter weather any day.

It’s almost too hot to think, though. Was definitely too much for me last night. At almost 1:00 a.m. it was still around 33 with the humidex.

This morning I looked out and saw these lilies had appeared in one of the flower beds. They’re a very pretty pale pink/peach colour. Everything on the roof garden is so amazingly lush and green as a result of all the rain we’ve had this year. It really is beautiful out there and, thankfully, much cooler than on street level.

The gardeners have put pretty little flowers around the base of the trees. They added the small white ones this week.

Look at the colour of these flowers! They are unbelievably vivid and rich.

Smudge loves the caterpillar toy and last night we noticed he had it in his kitty bed. I’m not sure if he’s using it as a pillow or if he’s just making sure Lester can’t get it!

I’ll be finishing up my Four Seasons quilt this weekend. Hope everyone has a great weekend!

  1. I’m not sure what has happened with our “Cappy” – I thought I had him out for the move, so maybe Kleenex has him stashed somewhere I can’t find. Both the Tiger Tail (getting flatter and sadder looking all the time) and Snake Toy are in regular use though 🙂

  2. The flowers are SOOOO pretty. Cathi, this is hilarious with Smudge holding out with the toy! I know he’s hiding it from Lester. Totally a Smudgester Move, totally.Sneaky Sleeping Kitty Love, *karendianne./ Living Life at LeeHaven

  3. Wow your weather sounds just like the weather here in Atlanta!!! Air quality is just awful here too. Much sympathies! Smudge is a sweety. With my cats, it doesn’t matter how many toys they have, they always want the one another cat has.

  4. We’re in the humidity too, but we’ve had a couple days that aren’t as hot, thank goodness. We had rain off and on all morning today, which we needed. The flowers are so pretty. I think that’s the only thing that gets me through winter anymore; the thought of spring and summer blooms.

  5. Well I grew up in a very humid area in Pennsylvania but it just seemed normal to me. Then after moving to Utah I realized the difference. It is weird because I have allergies here but not there in PA. Last night was humid here. It rained some and it was sooo hot and muggy. It usually always cools off at night some and we open the windows with fans and don’t need the air conditioning. So last night I was miserable!
