I haven’t posted much this week. It has been a miserable week for me — almost 24/7 migraines. Our weather patterns this summer are so bizarre and they seem to have meant nothing but migraine after migraine. Some better meds today and I’m much more able to cope.
A visit to Sew Sisters was on the list today and oh, my!! I came home with some wonderful goodies. First of all — this glorious batik. It makes me thinks of waves.
This was another of my finds today. It’s going in with the other Oriental fabrics I’ve collected. I know I want to do one very special quilt just with these fabrics but haven’t yet chosen a pattern.
The main reason for the trip today was to pick up some silk batting and the Gypsy Gripper! I’ve already used it. I have limited strength in my hands and have some difficulty holding a ruler steady sometimes — but with this, it’s a piece of cake!

From the fat quarter bin — I just couldn’t resist any of these. There were a few more but they’re already hanging up to dry. I HAD to hand wash a few as soon as I got home as I have plans. 🙂

Smudge in another of his wise brown owl moments — or is that mischief in the making? One never knows with our Smudge.

Nice fabric goodies! And that gripper looks awesome. Smudge is very distinguished… so handsome!

Yummy fabrics! I am sorry to hear about your migraines. Glad you feel a little better. I bought a Gypsy Gripper too. I have carp tunnel syndrome and arthritis and can only rotary cut a little at a time. This tool is awesome!

Oh poor you, migraines are a real pain, and it’s so difficult to find some medication that works. I have a Gypsy Gripper too and it’s absolutely brilliant – just a pity it doesn’t work too well on the smaller rulers.

Oh, Catherine, I am sorry you are suffering from migraines. I have several family members you have them and they sound like pure torture! Glad you are feeling a bit better. Your new fabrics are super. I especially like the oriental one. I am going to get one of the grippers for my sister for her birthday. She is so afraid of cutting her fingers. This should be great for her. Are you going to be in the swap with the stitchers angels? I hope you are my partner. Everything you make is so lovely. About today’s cat picture. You think he looks wise. I think he looks like he is saying “well take the picture already. How long to you want me to hold this pose?”. Have a great rest of the day…..

great fabrics………….I am keeping away from Sew Sisters as we are going on vacation next month and want to save my money for shopping down there, and I know if I set foot in the store I will not come out of it without spending a small fortune…LOLGill

Hi Cathi,Hope that you have recovered from the migraines- my husband gets them from time to time- often triggered by foods or red wine. He needs a dark room and quiet- sometimes has trouble with his stomach with them too. They are not fun to have – I feel bad that you’ve suffered from them this week.A friend of mine found Sew Sisters on line and has ordered fabric from them. They sure had some good prices on things so it is nice to hear when someone has bought from them and been really satisfied. It gives one confidence to order from them from a distance.Hope you are having a much better weekend- Here in Edmonton it is hot, hot hot- It is suppose to be 35 degrees tomorrow Yikes- I might have to go and live in the basement for the day- might even get some cleaning done down there..Regards,Anna

So sorry to hear about the migranes.I have never had that problem, but I sure do have a headache this morning. We have a thunder storm in the making and I am sure it has to be the air pressure. Your fabrics finds are lovely, my daughter is collecting oriental designs too. I have the Gypsy Gripper but have not tried it yet. Thanks for reminding me about it. Hope you have a good day, migrane free.

Glad the migraines aren’t so bad now. Love your new fabrics! I have a pile of Asian fabrics that I really like and plan to use them for a wedding quilt for my niece, but, like you, I still haven’t picked a pattern yet.
