I absolutely adore working with the Oriental prints and look at these FQ’s, the latest to make their way into my stash!

I was thinking of doing Insanity (see this post) in Orientals, but have decided that that one will have to be done in shabby chic. I’m waiting, however, for an Inklingo collection that has half-inch hexagons before I start Insanity. I can’t even begin to fathom basting and English paper piecing the 10,000+ hexagons the quilt requires!
Now I need to find the perfect pattern to showcase those gorgeous Oriental prints! A few of these are so pretty that I’m half tempted to just do a simple border around the FQ and frame it!
I have been toying with the idea of doing the Lollypop Trees applique pattern. I thought I was safe as really bright prints just weren’t something that I had ever bought. So what do I receive in the mail last week? These!
They’re incredibly bright and a lot of fun to look at! I’m still debating whether I will make the leap and order the Lollypop Trees pattern. It just looks like such fun!
Smudge seems singularly unimpressed with the fabric acquisition going on around here!

Lester is also unimpressed. The chair Lester is curled up in is one that has been in my family for years and years. When I was a child, our cat would almost always pick this as her favourite spot. Since then, just about every cat I’ve had has made this a favourite. I think it must feel like just the right size for a kitty!
I think I was a tad too optimistic about the weather the other day. Last night there was a frost alert just slightly north of us. Frost alert in late May?? It has been so chilly we have had to put the heat back on! Yesterday the gardener was planting some more flowering plants. I hope they survived the chill last night! Will summer ever arrive??
Beautiful Asian fabrics! Eager to see what you’ll do. I’m planning an Asian quilt for my niece’s wedding gift, but I am absolutely not doing Insanity! And I love the brights, but that’s what I usually buy. You need sunglasses to look at my stash. 🙂

Hi Catherine, thanks for visiting my blog and leaving a comment. I love the fabrics! I sometimes think of doing a little hexagon quilt, but only doll-sized!

Great fabrics! Yummy. I don’t know what a lollypop quilt is. Its very sad to be me. :<However, I’m thrilled to see the cats again. Whew. There was an uprising going on around here I could barely control. Kipling would like to report he is totally unimpressed with the fabric acquisitions as well. I guess he feels Smudge deserves a buddy in that department. On the other hand I’m entirely thrilled with all the yummies you are stacking up here.

I love your choice of fabrics and am especially looking forward to seeing the oriental prints done up in a quilt. Lester and Smudge are beautiful kitties and I love seeing them do what kitties do best, lounge around and sleep!I have to say that I’m a bit jealous that you’re still having chilly weather. I’ll think of you while I sit here in front of the fan trying to stay cool.Aloha!

Nice fabrics – and I know they will be fun to work with. I looked up the lollipop quilt and it does indeed look like fun, but wow is it ever busy. There is someone on here, and I don’t remember where I saw it but in the Quilting for Fun ring, that has a quilt made up of snowball blocks and ninepatches. It is just beautiful and I was thinking how nice your oriental fabrics would look in the snowball block. Would be a great way to showcase them. if I run across it again I will send the site your way.
