So far, so good – I’m sticking with my piecing plan.
And I’ve finished another brown & blue Silent Garden block.
Its back after pressing. These are getting faster and faster to piece the more I stick with this plan.
Then came a hard choice – would I do a pretty pink or lilac Harpsichord Quilt block. I couldn’t resist and decided on the lilac one. Lilacs mean spring to me – perhaps I’m trying to fool myself into believing spring is already here.

I’m thinking about printing all the shapes this weekend that I need to complete the Tranquil Garden and the brown and blue Silent Garden tops. I’d love to get all the pieces kitted and ready to sew for each. That way, I could just keep going in this manner until the three tops are done as I think the Harpsichord Quilt blocks will be finished at just about the same time as the two Silent Garden tops.

Nice blocks! And spring is coming slowly!
That still cracks me up to watch how Baxter drinks. Does he eat his food the normal way? Does Jake watch and give him “the look” when he drinks? LOL!

Spring can’t come soon enough for me – we had little flurries again today. Baxter eats normally. It’s just drinking water that he has to do a little – well, differently! The first time Jake saw him do that, you could almost see him wondering what on earth Baxter was doing and yes, he does give him “the look” sometimes.

Was Baxter hand fed from a bottle while being held on his back like a human baby? and how do you get your block backs pressed so neatly and flat?

I don’t think Baxter was fed like that when he was a kitten. I think it’s just the Maine Coon fascination with water. Smudge, one of our other Maine Coons, also had a very unique way of drinking water. It seems they’re noted for it. Do you watch the Inklingo Live videos on Facebook? Linda Franz did another one on Friday (and it’s now up on her blog so you could watch it here now if you didn’t see it) and she showed how she presses. I learned to press my blocks that way from her. It’s hard to explain in words, but much easier in pictures – or, even better, the Inklingo Live Video 7.

Thank you – I”m having so much fun making those blocks!! Baxter always drinks like that so I guess it must feel good to him to be all twisted around like that. I can’t help but laugh at the paws in the air while he drinks.

Baxters drinking is very unusual. I wonder what his motivation is. The blocks look very nice. I’m still in love with the Garden Gone Wild blocks.

I think it’s just the Maine Coon fascination with water. Smudge, one of our other Maine Coons, also had a very odd and distinctive way of drinking water – they seem to love to get wet. Which is also why we have rather large water bowls for him – that way he can really enjoy himself.
I can’t wait to find the right setting fabric for those Garden Gone Wild blocks. When I do – well, I can’t wait to put that top together!

Oh how that video still makes me laugh!!! Does he drink like that EVERY time he gets a drink? Or just occasionally? He is a funny cat! And I still LOVE the blue and brown blocks! They are fabulous!

Every single time – he also has a very distinctive meow just before so we know to drop everything and go watch because, of course, he thinks we must! He’s a very funny cat! And every time I work on those brown & blue blocks I think of you and that evening when we printed and printed and printed some more 2” diamonds for kaleidoscope stars!
