See these fun little units? I made the two of them last night. They finish at 3″. And I have no idea what they’re going to become. They were made using shapes from the new Inklingo collection that was released Friday to go along with Bonnie’s new mystery quilt, Celtic Solstice.
I decided to go with a small group of fabrics for the mystery. I’m printing one sheet of each shape on the colours required in each clue just so I can stitch at least one or two of the units in that clue as each one is released. For now, though, I’ve got to stick with a few of the other projects I’ve got on the go as I’m determined to get at least one of my sets of kaleidoscope stars sewn together before the end of the year soon.
The freezer paper sheets I use for printing each shape are in a folder as I can go back and use them many, many times. When I do get a couple of the other projects finished and then decide just how large I want to make this mystery quilt I’ll have the freezer paper sheets ready and waiting.
And a new project box has been set up for the Celtic Solstice mystery. The printed shapes are in glassine envelopes that are labelled with the clue number and shape name. Love your fabric choices Cathy. Are you printing ON your freezer sheets instead of on the fabric??

No, I’m using the freezer paper to print the templates in the normal Inklingo fashion – ironing my fabric on to the freezer paper and printing the templates on the back of my fabrics.

I am keeping Bonnie’s instructions just in case I want to make it later but I think if I do this one might be done on the sewing machine – I have so much appliqueing going on for hand work right now and hexies that I don’t need more hand work.
