You knew I couldn’t stop with just one kaleidoscope stars project, right? Of course you did. I am finding these kaleidoscope stars way, way, way too much fun and I have a feeling this is just the tip of the iceberg. I’m already contemplating a couple of other projects that would lend themselves quite nicely to the kaleidoscope effect.

It all started with this fabric, which I also used in my Tiffany Lamp New York Beauty quilt top. When I put the window template on it, I knew immediately that this was going to make some fabulous kaleidoscope stars. And, in fact, I had already made five using it as seen on the August 20 post.

Just after Barb left last week, I decided to go for it and printed all of two metres of this fabric with the 2″ diamonds. And then I started making more of the stars.

The first one.

Then a second.

A third.

A fourth.

A fifth.

A sixth.

A seventh.

An eighth. If I had to pick a favourite out of this group, I think this would be it. Or maybe the fifth one. Or perhaps the tenth one.

A ninth one.

And the tenth one. Now I have 15 of the wild floral kaleidoscope stars done and there are many, many more to stitch.

As seen in this box. Yet another box that’s so full I absolutely have to stitch more kaleidoscope stars so the top will fit without crushing any of the diamonds.

There is one more fabric I’m using to make kaleidoscope stars and they have a totally different look. And you’ll see those soon. As irresistible as these kaleidoscope stars are, I’m going to try to concentrate on the Summer Picnic Dish top for the next couple of weeks. And we all know what the chances of that succeeding are, but I’m going to try!

In keeping with the floral theme, this was what we saw in the lobby vases last week. Look at the rich colour of these glorious sunflowers!
