Looking Back

When we took the picture of the stack of quilt tops waiting to be quilted, we also took some of them out to the roof garden for their outdoors photo.

First up was the crib size Dresden Plate quilt. This will be so quick to quilt that I think I may try to get it basted within the next week or two and then get started on the hand quilting.

Next was the Japanese X/Spool quilt. Another one that’s the perfect size for a baby quilt and would be quick to quilt.

This one is one of Mr. Q.O.’s favourites. I am going to add one more plain border which will make it a good size for a lap quilt.

The Tropical Punch table topper. Another one that will be quick to finish once I get it basted.

And my favourite – the Drunkard’s Path variation done with the Rouenneries fabrics. I have the batting and backing for this one. It’s time to get this one basted and ready to quilt.

I was searching for something yesterday and discovered where I had tucked away the white on white for the Summer Picnic Dish, so it’s back at the top of the list of things to work on. I definitely made sure I wouldn’t use any of that white on white for another project tucking it away so well. The last couple of days I’ve done very little stitching, although I have been sorting through projects and trying to prioritize. That hasn’t gotten me very far, as I’m absolutely itching to start a new project. So far I’ve managed to resist, but it’s inevitable that I will print the shapes for it sometime over the next few days. But the first thing that has to be done is the printing of the shapes needed to finish the Summer Picnic Dish quilt top.

  1. Oh boy Baxter looks as though he might want to start playing!
I’m glad to hear that some of the quilt tops are cribs, that makes a BIG difference in completing all of them. Enjoy! Thank you Cathi for this blog.

  2. Quite a nice lineup of quilts to finish! You’ll get them done sooner or later! And I am looking forward to your next new project because I know it will show up sooner than later! LOL!
The alien has taken over! Baxter seems to have adopted him as a lasting buddy.
    Great picture of Baxter!

  3. it is very hard to not start new projects. I want to get caught up on my Love Entwined, but at the same time I want to go back to working on three other quilts that I have started and not making much progress on. Then of course I look at all the inklingo projects that I want to make and they keep calling to me – I am determined though for a little bit at least to catch up on Love Entwined and then get back to the 3 started and have more finishes.
