Last night I got all the shapes for the edges and the 2″ connecting squares of the Patchwork of the Crosses quilt top printed and cut out.
The blocks are in a stack and each one has a little piece of paper pinned on with its row and block number. So now all that’s left to do is stitch, stitch and stitch. I’m hoping to stay focused for the next week or two and just get this top finished! I may add a border, but I’ll decide that once the blocks are all together.
No more rain yesterday but today’s forecast is calling for more severe thunderstorms with heavy rain. They said we may have as much rain as we did Monday. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that this will be one of the times the weather forecasters are really, really wrong.
“Alien Buddy.”
Baxter was very curious about something he heard just as this photo was being taken.
Love that orange block! Baxter, you might want to make your alien friends a boat……don;t want them floating away in the flood, do you?

Focus, focus, you can do it!!!
Well, so the aliens have landed and finally appeared for direct contact, wonder if they like catnip?
Baxter looks like he was caught in the act of doing something he shouldn’t have been doing.

heard of all the horrible flooding – hope it all didn’t effect you too much

It definitely isn’t as exciting adding all of the connecting pieces but that quilt will be spectacular when done.
I hope you don’t get a lot more rain. The jet stream is changing direction so it might save you.

Love the purple in your POTC! I found it easiest to sew the blocks together into sets of four and then go from there.
