The nine 2.5″ LeMoyne Stars for the bed runner are done. Today I’ll get a start on putting the little bed runner together. Thanks to the comments yesterday, I have decided to use flannel as the batt for this little runner.
The quilt I’m making for that doll bed is being made with the 2″ Drunkard’s Trail blocks. Do these look familiar? If you’ve been reading my blog for a while, you might remember this small quilt I made for AAQI using the same fabrics. The buyer of my AAQI quilt is my friend who has the four-poster doll bed, so she’ll have a matching quilt for the doll bed. I’ve got all the pieces cut and ready to stitch and, as these are such small blocks, I expect it won’t take long to stitch them. Then the fun will be the block placement.
Yesterday I got my hair cut. And I mean cut! This is the shortest hair I’ve ever had – think Judi Dench short – but I’m thrilled with it. It’s going to be so easy to deal with and looks better than it has in ages.
Baxter’s now taking cooking classes at the Fair, it seems. Poor chickens!
He was sound asleep in one of his kitty beds, surrounded by toys.
Quilt Obsession 
I just read all of yesterday’s comments on flannel batting. Normally I have nothing different to say but I will add this comment. I have made some very small scaled miniatures and flannel works well but one thing I did try that I really liked was taking an all cotton piece of batting and splitting it so it was half as thick. It was very easy to work with and became a batting that matched the scale of my miniature.

Oh, I forgot to say I used Judy D’s hair cut as a guide for my hairdresser. I have been wearing my hair this short since January, I love it! So easy, you can towel dry, wind and rain can’t faze it. Very freeing. I get lots of positive comments and it flatters my silver/white/gray hair color. So happy for you.

Two weeks ago I had my hair cut short too. I am so happy with it! It was a great decision. I hope Baxter makes enough in class for all of us fans to try! LOL!
