Over the past week or so, I’ve been stitching these. In the space of about an hour, I can stitch close to 20 of these little 2″ Drunkard’s Path units. There are 66 of them in this photo. Of the 832 needed for the quilt I’m making, I now have 519 made. Now there are only 313 left to make. If I were to just stitch these for the next week or so, I would have them all made. But I doubt that I’ll stay that focused.
The box containing the little blocks is getting full.
So I decided to make one of each of the two 4″ blocks that will be used in the quilt top to see how they looked. These are such fun to put together and oh, so fast. It takes only a few minutes to join the four 2″ blocks for each of the blocks.
Pressed and seams graded.
I realized last week that I hadn’t been grading the seams so, over the past few evenings, I’ve gone through all the finished 2″ blocks and graded the seams. I’m saving all the bits as they will be great for stuffing a little kitty bed or a pincushion. Kitty bed first, of course. Now I’m glad I have been saving the bits from grading seams on various projects as I have almost enough for a kitty bed for Baxter already.
Baxter went for one last canoe trip before the weather gets too cool. Seems he had some observers on the shore.
Baxter takes his quilt inspection duties quite seriously. Mr. Q.O. captioned this one, “What’s this, then?”

Charming ’30 style prints…will look perfect for that quilt! Can hardly wait to see it laid out on your design wall!!! Oh my, I’d think canoeing in the north country would be getting nippy…glad Baxter was able to get one last paddle in for the season! 😉

Those little blocks are the cutest! Just seeing them in the small box is a delight!
Better watch out, Baxter will paddle over to the shore and pick up a few friends to take home with him!
And he is moving the blocks as he is not liking your color arrangement I don’t think! 🙂

So darned CUTE!~ I am going to cut out some SPOOL Leaders and Enders to have by my sewing machine. When I was sewing last evening, I vowed that I’d get them cut today and in a basket. Im going to use my 30s and muslin , just like you did here.
Baxter will have a very comfy kitty bed with those little bits stuffed inside!
Love his expedition toon. I use to love canoeing on lakes in Canada and Upstate NY. Miss it so. This really brings back memories. You could see all the way to the bottom of the lakes. Bolders and fish. We’d camp on little islands. Eat rainbow trout.

Love your fabric! Not totally familiar with quilt terminology. What is grading seams? Are you making sure that the blocks are the same size?
