I saw the photo of just Smudge and, honestly, my first thought was, “Where’s the kitten?!!? oh no, the kitten….”… Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought something had happened to Smudge. Oh goodness, gracious. I’m so sorry for you. So, so sorry. I know you are just sick as can be over all of this. Take your time and be gentle with yourself. Poor Mr Q.O. probably doesn’t know what to do to comfort you, nor you for him. So devastating. I wish I were there to bring you a nice dinner, bottle of wine and flowers. My little friend “Physie” the cat (a long story to the name) and I have just logged in to find your sad news. He is sitting on the keyboard whilst I type. Losing a member of the family is always tragic. We always know we will only have them for a short while, but the love you gave and the love returned will always be in your heart. so sad…both furry loves gone. I’m sorry for the void you have in your hearts and home!
Please consider getting a couple of kitties, they will never be the same as, but it will help fill the loss of companionship that you both have had, and shared with us over the years.

Oh no – I just stopped by to see what you were up to and I found the post about Smudge. What heartbreaking news. I am so sorry for your loss – and so soon after Lester. I loved seeing the daily pictures of both of them and look forward to the ones of Baxter – he’s a real cutie.

OMG… I must have missed this post, Cathi! I am so sorry to hear about Smudge. I was wondering why you didn’t have any photos of him and only Baxter. I am soooo sorry for your loss. I know that you loved Smudge so much. He was a BIG part of your family. I know he will be missed.

So sorry Cathi!! When I caught up reading your posts and only read about Baxter a terrible feeling crept on me ….. and it it true, OMG, will miss those gorgeous photos you always posted of Smudge.
